I didn't mean "cabin fever" literally!

Our poor little guy took my last post to heart I guess, because he ended up with a fever last Friday night. I gave him some Tylenol and put him to bed. When he woke up he was in the 102 range so we fought the fever all day Saturday. Sunday morning rolled around and I ended up calling someone to cover my lesson at church because Oakley's fever had reached 103.5 degrees. We went on a roller coaster ride with his temperature all day and around 11:00 that night I went in to check on him and he was on FIRE at 107.3 degrees. I told James to start the tub and we threw him in and then headed to the hospital...where we spent the night running test after test. Finally they decided Oakley has pneumonia and so they sent us home only to follow up with our pediatrician later that morning. When I got there, the doctor told me he has the flu and is anemic on top of everything else. The poor kid never puked, coughed, pooped....nothing that would indicate anything until tonight and now I can't keep any of his medicine down. He is to the point he screams when he sees the hospital...he screams when the doctor or nurse comes in the room...and he screams when he sees me coming with any form of medicine at all! He is way clingy to his daddy...(very good thing) and has spent more time in the tub than out of it. I feel so bad for him. Lucky for us, my sister Amber has coached me through everything. She as answered 100 calls from me and I am sure she just shakes her head and laughs when she hangs up the phone from talking with me. But...we do appreciate all she has done to help us...So THANK YOU Amber for all your help. We couldn't have done it with out you! Hopefully he will kick this thing soon...so we can all get some well needed R&R!

Saturday morning....Oakley was freezing so he brought James his coat, a beanie, and some PJ bottoms...to put over the top of the PJ's he was wearing. This is the end result. I think those pants make him look like he has frog legs!

Oakley and Dad are intently watching a coyote hunting video. Oakley wasn't feeling up to playing, but he was very intriqued by what he saw on the tube (You don't think he is anything like his Daddy to you?)

Here is my little Loch Ness Monster! This is how he has spent most of his time during the last 3 days! He has spent so much time in the water...I am beginning to think he is growing gills!

Cabin Fever!!!!!!!!!

UGHHHHH! I can't stand this cabin fever anymore! I am sooooo ready for summer! So is the rest of my family. Oakley keeps bringing me his gloves, hat, coat and boots so that he can go on 4 wheeler rides. I will be so happy when we can just go for a ride and not have to worry about whether his eyes are dripping or whether he is freezing to death. Not to mention, I am looking forward to taking Oakley on horse rides and most of all James and I are getting excited to hit the lake! We just sit and stare at our boat in the garage and wishfully think about warmer weather! SOoooo....hopefully it warms up soon and we can shake this cabin fever!

All for Me!!!!

My sweet sister Joce dropped by the house with a little surprise all for me tonight! It was totally unexpected but totally LOVED! Joce got me some sweet retro drinking glasses! She said she thought of me when she saw them and she was right on! Thank you Joce for being so sweet and thinking of me! I love you!

The Backyardigans

Oakley's new favorite show in the whole world is the Backyardigans.. He dances....he twirls....and he headbangs....to the backyardigans. Never knew the Backyardigans were anything to headbang to...but anything goes in his world! It is the cutest thing to watch though and I can't help but smile to myself when I see him do these things. In twenty years he will probably be embarrased, but I love these little moments! I have to admit that I am addicted to the Backyardigans as well. I can't go a day without singing or dancing to one of the songs on the show. They get stuck in my head. I am sure I sing them in my sleep....really hope not....but I think you get the picture.

These boots are made for walking!!!!

Okay....Okay...so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! As you can see Oakley is obsessed with boots! Lately he has even been pretty vocal about which ones he wants to wear. If I put a pair on him that he doesn't want he kicks them off and gets the pair he wants. This morning he wanted to wear a high heeled pair that my little brother wore at that age! He LOVES them and since they are high heeled he struggles in the walking department....but he just keeps getting up, every time he falls. I must admit James and I were never without boots as kids.....We're never without boots now....what am I saying! I guess in our family you can never have to many boots....just ask Oakley!

New washer and dryer!

Okay....so my dryer went out this week. I have a perfectly good washer and I am faced with the delemma to go by a new dryer...a used dryer.....or go big like getting something along the lines of a front load, large capacity, steam washer and dryer.....

Enough suspense...I opted for option three. James and I went to Lowes and the sweet salesperson there told us the the Bosche set had everything we were wanting. SOLD! We are going home and James keeps telling me that he didn't think it had the steam option (which was the main reason for purchasing) I on the other hand, kept telling him that the sales people know their stuff....it has to have steam.

We got it unloaded (My poor old neighbor about busted a nut doing it) and into the house. James started getting it all put together and I started reading the owners manual. As I was reading I noticed NO STEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called the place up and they said "Oh....that model doesn't have the steam option." I told them I didn't pay an entire pay check for a regular washer and dryer. I wanted steam and that is what I was told I was purchasing.
They pretty much told me sorry about your luck and if you really want to you can bring it back..

Great how do you suppose I lift it back into my truck..
Needless to say....We are stuck with our regular front load washer and dryer.... that I HATE!!!!!!!

Not only that but the Damn dryer keeps shutting off every fifteen minutes so I can clean the Damn lint catcher. What is the deal....I am about to go nuts!

Hopefully it is broke and they will have to give me a new one....posslibly one with steam!

Pee Pee in the Potty Time....YEE HAW!

Okay so you can tell I am the proudest mother in the whole entire world right now. Oakley went pee in the potty two times today! Santa brought him a potty seat for Christmas and he has got his moneys worth out of it already. Oakley has done nothing but put the potty seat on the toilet and take his pants off for a week straight. I have taken his diaper off and tried to get him to go potty in the toilet, but he wouldn't do it until today. He actually brought the seat out to me and drug me to the bathroom with him. I had just barely changed his diaper and I really wasn't wanting to take it off again, but I had a sneaking suspicion that he was trying to tell me something. He sure was!!!! He is only 14 months old! I am so excited I can barely stand it! I am so excited if my body could somehow contort itself so that I could do a cartwheel or a summersault or anything along those lines I so would. But I can't so I just went spastic cheerleader on him and to tell you the truth I think I scared him the second time, but he knew he did something GrrEAT!
