WANTED!!

The roughest toughest outlaw bunch this side of border!

Yep you guessed it we made our annual trip to Lagoon. It was blazing hot that day but we managed to make it out of there without sunburns or sun stroke, so we figured it was a GREAT day! Not to mention the kids had a blast!

I love it when our kids do cute things like put their arms around each other on the boat ride! They sure know how to melt a mama's heart!

This is what happens when you take away your baby's hot dog flavored water! (gag me)

During this ride, James struck up a conversation with two ladies that thought our kids were the cutest things in the whole world. Those ladies REALLY (and I mean REALLY) got a kick out of our Vernal accent. They kept asking where we were from and when we would say Vernal, they just couldn't understand why we talk like we are from Texas. I really got a kick out of the puzzeled looks on their faces!

Jerry's spur straps

While Wylene and Jerry were here for a little training clinic last week, Jerry had me make him a set of buckleless spur straps. I liked the way they turned out. Hopefully he does too! Let me know what you think. Are they too dark....not flashy enough....I need your imput!

Holy Catch-up!!!!

We have been going none stop for the last three weeks and to tell you the truth I haven't been around a computer much. So, I am going to try to catch up on all of the happenings in our world! I went and took a well needed visit to one of my best friends ever Aunt Sandy! She happened to be in Utah, so we jumped in the car and went to Oakley to see her! She also took entirely way to much pleasure in watching me be a mom! After a quick visit, we headed home for the annual Neola kids rodeo. Oakley wanted to chase EVERYthing. He didn't know what to do with it when he got close enough to catch it, so he would pet it and find something else to chase. It was so stinking funny. Dakota caught a chicken that we promptly pawned off on someone else. She is still in mourning over it, but I think she will live! Then we went to the 4th of July parade and fireworks. The parade may be lame, but it is tradition. All of this was followed up by rodeo week. James and Brandon competed in the steer dressing on Thursday night. I think they were robbed! Nuff said about that! Other than that Dakota has had us at Grandma and Grandpa Boomers house to play with puppies and ride horses. She has been practicing her barrels and she has been feeling a need for speed lately. We have also managed to get a few visits to the lake squeezed in to all of our outings. Nothing says summer like the lake! So I think that about covers it. Hope you enjoy all of the pics!

Bite the bubble Fishy!

That is what Oakley was saying all night tonight. As you can tell we did a little fishing.....Okay...okay....we've been doing a lot of fishing lately! Anyways we went to Steinaker tonight and James decided he was going to catch a Bass. He was so determined....Unfortunately, the huge one he caught worked its way off his line and landed in the water with a huge splash! James, to say the least, was not thrilled!

They rest of the night, I tried to keep Oakley busy reeling in some small Bluegills...but he grew bored of that and decided to lighten our load on the boat. By the time he was done he had thrown a towel, a fish hook remover, a whole bottle of power bait, a package of Keebler soft cookies, and a whole lot of ice into the lake. He would be sneekie about it too, because he would wait until we were pulling a fish off of our line or baiting a hook and then he would let it all fly! Crazy kid!

James caught one more Bass towards nightfall.....but when he went to put it on the stringer....it came off of the boat and the whole stringer of fish was lost in the lake. Not a good night for us.....James really was not amused and we decided it was time to come home. Something tells me he takes his fishing seriously!!!!

The other night though we had some better luck. We went with Ryan and Marie and between all of us we caught over 70 Bluegill. By the time we got them filleted there was hardly any meat. Oh well.....It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it!

Wylene's Chinks

After about a year of waiting Wylene finally got her chinks. I don't know what my deal was, I am usually not that slow. Anyways, I finally finished them so she could take them home with her. I think they turned out pretty nice. I used a brindle hide and then since she LOVES stars I ran with it. I put a double fringe on it with the black on top being twisted. I personally love her name on the back that I tooled into the leather and then painted. I also LOVE the bling! Let me know what you all think!

Thanks Wylene for being patient with me and for giving me the opportunity to just run with what ever I wanted! I hope you enjoy them!

They're back!!!!!!!!

It is that time of year again and some of the coolest "kick ass" ( sorry for the cuss words....but that is just how they are...no other words describe better) women are back at the Double W. Wylene Wilson and Wenda Johnson came once again and charmed everybody senseless! Wylene brought Jerry with her this go around and we were so happy to have met him. He is so funny and is a good match for her. But any who...I just love these ladies. They are awesome and fun to be around. They have a wealth of knowledge like none other and it was fun to watch them work. I learned a lot in the little time I was able to watch. They are go getters though. I think they had over 20 horses to ride everyday for the week that they were here.

All these pics are of Wylene riding our two year old dunn gelding. This was his first ride and to tell you the truth...all of this happened within the first fifteen minutes. Wenda rode him the rest of the week and did an outstanding job with him. I ended up trading babysitting for a weeks worth of riding and I am pretty sure I got the better end of the deal. Wenda's little one is sooooo sweet and I really enjoyed holding an actual baby again....(don't get any idea's now).

It was a great week of horses...girl talk...and friends! Gotta love it!

Slader Tater!!!!

This post is way overdue but that is just how I roll sometimes. Slade finally graduated this year. It is a little bitter sweet for me because he is supposed to still be the Zorro sword toting, cape wearing, trick riding little cowboy that I remember hauling to rodeos and horse shows all over the country. Now he is this grown up MEGA Hottie that all the girls break their necks to look at, that can make is own mind up about what he wants to do and be and it just isn't fair. I guess we all have to grow up sometime though and he has done a pretty good job of it. Any who... We love you Slade!!!!!!! Congrats!!!

I made these posters and we held them up during graduation. His whole class was giving him grief for it. He was so embarrassed! He thanked me from the bottom of his heart later. Secretly I think he really liked it though!

WARNING: Hell has officially froze over! The end is near! My dad bought these shorts in vegas and actually walked up and down the strip dressed like that. Roper shoes and all. You have to LOVE those white legs.....Anybody have some sunglasses I can borrow.. anybody??????????

Some people get money and useful things like irons and pots and pans. Others get Sweet Air ride saddle pads! Yes we are redneck and proud of it!!

Slade and his woman "Miss" Kati or as Slade calls her "Queen Kati!"

Duck.....Duck.......GOOSE!!!!

After all the craziness, my little guy crashed!! He just couldn't HANDLE all of the excitement!
